Suppose you have open Firefox and Leafpad (the small text editor). When you highlight some text in Firefox, the Leafpad window is minimised to the task bar.

Does your Sid system not have the directory /dev/disk/by-uuid?
Then check in /lib/udev/rules.d. Is there a file named xx-persistent-storage-rules?
Finally, check that udev is running with the command: /etc/init.d/udev status

Yo respondería casi sin duda que Puppy es SL. Puede haber aquí o allá algún componente de SP, algunos drivers por ej, pero en líneas generales sigue la filosofía del SL.
O sea, puedes hacer con Puppy todo lo que el SL permite.
