Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

hi all this is an offer of a commission to develop a puppy i think many people in the puppy community underestimate the appeal of small size and modularity to the general public (yes i am aware of the limitations of this model) i know that small size and the ability to easily modify puppy is what br...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

thanks for this great analysis of the pros and cons of ram use vs cpu use vs storage use i do believe that as wiak and others have pointed out "Having a relatively app complete implementation in smallish distro size, along with using own sysVinit based system scripts" is puppys main streng...

hi all

this is just a technical question

is a file symlinked to root

more efficient

than a file mounted to root with a layered filesystem

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

hi all i do believe that modularity can play a role here people are attracted to small iso size as well as low ram and cpu use that is why they are attracted to puppy if you built a distro that had only a browser and a few basic apps terminal text editor filemanager etc but could be added to as desi...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

hi all just a technical note for the future distrowatch only requires 1. a screenshot 2. and a link to the announcement of the candidate we could put both of these on the puppy linux homepage before we submit the candidate to distrowatch then we could just tell distrowatch to look there rather than ...
