Re: Where is Puppy on Distrowatch?

hi all

i know this is a pain

but i really think its important to stay on distrowatch

i think that is where i found puppy
300 hits per day is a lot of interest

cant we (the puppymaster) just put up a new edition once a year just to stay on the list

Re: Where is Puppy on Distrowatch?

hi all since no one has immediately responded to this suggestion i think i will run with it i think we (that is to say the developers not me since i have no skills) should make a community edition AT LEAST 1 time per year it can be multiple times per year if it is updated we can call the first one ...

Re: Where is Puppy on Distrowatch?

Re: Corepup - a minimalist modular system

Re: Corepup - a minimalist modular system

hi all i think it is important that there is information on the puppy forum that shows that a puppylike system can be structured in different ways (ie symlinks and modules) and that the various systems can be combined together but i am not a developer and so this will never be an intensively ...

Re: Corepup - a minimalist modular system

hi all this is just an update on this project essentially this project uses tiny core as a base to support puppy (and other distro) components it is possible to modify tiny core beyond it normal parameters but that is neither necessary nor desirable as it will break the support tiny core receives ...

Re: Corepup - a minimalist modular system

hi luke i would start with the latest tinycore from the tinycore site this is the smallest most modular base for your mpv if it is too new for your hardware you can try older ones until you find one that works they might even have an mpv extension already made that you can download take a look at it ...

Re: Corepup - a minimalist modular system

hi puppytrue corepup/tinycore and dcore use a simple sfs file symlinked into root for their extensions so you could put everything you needed in a file and squash it up and then put it in the tce/options folder to have it symlinked however i have no knowledge of your application and what it would ...

Re: new puppy sub forums

not suggesting anyone do it

but you could have a recent posts thread
that just gathers all the posts on the forum
but leaves them in their own threads

like tinycore linux

that way everyone can see what everyone is doing
by just checking one thread

Re: portable firefox in dcore (solved)

hi darry

apulse is activated with firefox
so it does not need to be started independently

but one has to not load pulseaudio
or it will interfere with apulse

but if you want to use firefox-esr
you will have to load pulseaudio

Re: dpup OS 1 Rolling

i have already figured out how to use woof-ce to make modules from puppy packages see the minimal modular puppy (from fossapu64) thread now someone needs to figure out how to determine what packages are needed for each app the modules would fit right in with dimkrs modular puppy concept william

Re: dpup OS 1 Rolling

once again

a module could be made of taersh's initrd

yet another option available in puppy linux

people can then work on their own module independently
to further develop it
without interfering with any one else

hi again if you made puppy into a modular system and used my simple build system you could make a module of wiak's weedog init and anyone could choose it if they desired in their particular iso build so now you would have 3 init choices available to everyone william
