UPupFF+D 20.08 RC0 - feedback

one PPM update should now work. thinkpadfreak I would suggest using the Chromium sfs and linking your scim module into /usr/lib/chromium. The mix of libs is definitely not ideal - blame Ubuntu for not supplying a full set of 32-bit components.... I don't know why Light should behave differen...

Re: UPupEF - Ubuntu Eoan+Focal based Woof-CE build

UPupFF+D is a 32-bit Woof-CE build of Puppy Linux constructed mainly from Ubuntu Focal Fossa (LTS 20.04) components but augmented by some Debian Bullseye components where necessary. It has a 5.4 series kernel. RC1 from here The intention is that this will replace UPupEF once Eoan Ermine has moved to...

Re: Discussion: Where should UPup32 go next?

Many thanks to everybody for their thoughts. I'll attempt to draw out some of my conclusions.... There is support / need for 32-bit pups. (I like 32-bit because they have a more consistent lib structure than 64-bit where multiple conflicting lib structures seem to exist) I like incremental, small st...

800 * 450 used to be the standard........ most inline images have "disappeared" with this new setting - not very user friendly!

Re: Discussion: Where should UPup32 go next?

Thats probably 4a. ;) hadn't thought of that one!

Wow - 239 pets - huge amount of work..... would it be worth it? One of the reasons for using a mainstream distro's repo is that they do the keeping up-to-date for us..... and given that 32-bit seems to be deprecated.....

Discussion: Where should UPup32 go next?

UPupEF32 is the latest version of UPup. It is built from a combination of Ubuntu Eoan Ermine (STR 19.10) and Focal Fossa (LTS 20.04) components using Woof-CE. The combination is required because Ubuntu have reduced their support for 32-bit components and Focal Fossa no longer has all the components ...

Re: Kernel compiling issue?

Hi ozsouth
I compile my 64-bit kernels with 9.3.0
To test I put the latest 5.7.2 into BionicPup32 .... most extreme test I could envisage lol
It worked just fine..........
Compiling drivers may be another matter....
