Re: Booting from refind, how to choose boot options?

@Clarity we are trying to boot directly with refind and not use GRUB2 at all. Why use a boot loader to load another boot loader. Each has different strengths and weaknesses. Top I know what you are trying. But I also know what our Linux world offers for our use that attempts to eliminate boot-time ...

Re: Booting from refind, how to choose boot options?

libertas it really has me stumped as well. As per your first option I have it working this way on an old and a new laptop from their internal hard drives. The same setup on a flash drive will not work. It's like it doesn't recognise the volume, label name, of the second ext4 partition. Like you it ...

Re: Kernel panic when booting in laptop from Ventoy usb stick

Hi @smokey01 , What is the recommended size of the EFI partition? As per your instructions, EFI folder, vmlinuz and initrd should be able to fit there. But the 'Fatdog help' says "3) If you flash drive was bigger than 256MB you can add another partition to use the remaining space for storage ...

Re: Kernel panic when booting in laptop from Ventoy usb stick

libertas As promised. I started with a new USB Flash Drive. SanDisk Ultra 32GB. It was already formatted to vfat/fat32. You can delete the contents (SanDisk security stuff) off the new flash drive if you wish as you won't need them. I assume you can mount the Fatdog64-901.iso by clicking on it so ...

Re: Kernel panic when booting in laptop from Ventoy usb stick

@libertas Somewhere on a vfat or fat32 partition you should have the following directory /EFI/boot/refind.conf Make an entry like below in refind.conf. menuentry "FD901 EFI" { icon /EFI/boot/icons/os_fatdog.png volume "PLAY" loader /901/vmlinuz initrd /901/initrd options "savefile=direct:device ...

How much memory does your laptop have? 4G or above should be fine.

Re: Homebank on smokey01's contrib repo

I must have had libsoup3 installed as well because I didn't have a missing dependency problem. Will fix.

Apparently it also needs opensp so I have added that to the dependencies.

Now fixed and works in virgin Qemu.

Dear smokey01
please provide a link to the CatDude script
Thanks

I don't think he has made it available yet but I will check.

Maybe we should move this conversation to a Skype thread?

Re: macbook touchpad configuration (bcm5974)

retiredt00 in the past CatDude would use Deb packages and turn them into a SFS that works in Fatdog64. Unfortunately where he sourced the packages stopped making Deb packages in lieu of snap packages. He has now created a script, which includes a few dependencies for Fatdog64, which works equally ...

On a happier note transforming the Debian skypeforlinux package to fatdog package with the provided utility it works (runing as spot) ok with minor stability issues.

@retiredt00 where did you source the Debian skypeforlinux package?

Thanks

Thanks to all that helped.

Re: How to filter & sort with php?

@smokey01 I made some changes to the CSS file that reduces the font size to 10px. Also adjusted the media selector screen size values. My testing shows it seems to work better than ever. Try out the CSS file with your actual target database and contact23.php. The tables seem to stay in alignment ...

Re: Testing the speed of USB flash drives

I bought a new laptop recently and it had a nvme drive. The problem was drivespeed couldn't see it so I added this functionality. Drivespeed should be able to test all types of drives now like: usb, hdd, ssd, mmc, nvme etc.

Re: How to filter & sort with php?

Contact23 works very well with my phone and also very well with desktop browsers. If one plays silly buggers and makes the browser too small with a desktop browser the text can spill over the modal once the scroll bar is activated.

Re: How to filter & sort with php?

@smokey01 I think some tweaking of the iframe sizing to match the modal is what we're looking for since it is iframe on layered on top of the modal box. Yes I've been fiddling with that. Setting the width to 400px has sorted the scroll bar issue but I'm not having the same success with the height ...
