Re: Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3
@Jasper - for a generic fdrv, only /lib/firmware should exist (/usr/lib/firmware if usrmerge), however, bookwormpup64's fdrv also has microcode included.

@Jasper - if you make it an fdrv .sfs, could compress to about 180mb.

Re: Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3
@vtpup - ok, would you post a copy of the 6.1.8 DOTconfig please? (hopefully, is under /boot, as config-...). Then I can try to make you a later kernel based on that. Perhaps pm it to me, as it might be a bit off topic here.

@vtpup - would be good to know what drivers you need, so would you please boot up Mint & in a terminal run:
lsmod > /mintmods.txt
& attach that file here.

Re: aufs future
@peebee - I used gcc 11.2 (s15pup64-231209) with my 5.15.150 failure, which was then ok to make 5.15.148 usrmerge kernel. I mostly use 10.2 (ScPup64_20.01), for compatibility with oldish pups.

Re: What is 'usrmerge'
@Chelsea80 - ah - I re-read your initial post - you were ENQUIRING about Noblepup, not actually running it, whilst you use bionicpup (non-usrmerge). Your Firefox SFS (above) should work in both.

Re: What is 'usrmerge'
@Chelsea80 - the bin & lib in your example are under the /usr folder, so that is fine for usrmerge.
What is not fine for usrmerge, is if they are in the main primary folder ( / ).

@Jasper - ubuntu seem to make their own updates. In a terminal, run: openssl version & look at the date.

Re: some android questions
@boof - re- ring time. I know 'Belong' (Australia) have a long code to dial in & increase ringtime from 15 to 30 sec. Other providers may have similar. It is possible to get a lanyard phone-holder if that would help.

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!
As long as folk are led to understand that the Bookworms are usrmerge & old .pets could be incompatible, I think we should put the Bookworms on DW AND more prominently on puppylinux.com.

@Jasper - unfortunately, the rtl & wl wifi drivers are extras to 5.x kernels. They are both .pets in the forum Drivers section though.

s15pup is there because we voted on it at the time, peebee came through when something was needed, & nothing has been voted on since.

Re: 6.8.6 64bit LOW-LATENCY NON-USRMERGE Kernel Aufs/Overlayfs
As testing has shown CONFIG_TMPFS_POSIX_ACL=y is necessary, I made a 6.8.7 kernel including it. It is not low-latency. See forum Kernels section.
This kernel, although should not trouble most folk, is withdrawn. I will make a 6.6.28 lolat kernel.
