I am releasing a Noblepup64 (v2) version with this kernel. Is not for older pups. Use at own risk.
This is 4 months & 2 branches newer than Noblepup64 original & is one of the last allowing firmware ...

Re: Chromebook replacement

Yes all-day operation is the brief. As for tasks, it depends on needs. My Pentium N6000 Chromebook with 8Gb ram is fine. Very little lag. With Firefox, Thunderbird & mpv in the local Crostini container, there is occasional minor lag due to being unaccelerated in that. I have Softmaker Office in that ...

Re: 6.6 kernels - bad commits

Now seems these bad commits only affected 6.6.72, so 6.6.71 & earlier seem ok.
I have found more issues with 6.6.73 & 6.6.74 - drive names seem to vary on boot (emmc drive) - is fine with 6.6.71 & earlier, so I have reinstated 6.6.71.

@bigpup - check your pm's. You are probably missing /usr/lib/firmware/rtw89/rtw8851b_fw.bin.
I've added a medium sized BookwormPup64 fdrv with that file (72mb). See forum Kernels section, firmware subsection.

Re: 6.12.7 64bit Kernel USRMERGE Overlayfs-Only - modified Debian config

@bigpup - glad that worked. Did you disable or delete kbuild sfs? Kbuild sfs is inappropriate with a new kernel, as you now need devx & sources for driver compiling.

6.6.73 64bit Kernel withdrawn

I made a 64bit 6.6.73 2018 KIT Non-Usrmerge Aufs/Overlayfs kernel, using a modified Debian config.
This has the spectre v2 BPF fix. Also has overlayfs fix, due to some previously bad commits.

6.6 BRANCH (after 6.6.62) STILL HAS ISSUES, so withdrawn

6.6 kernels - bad commits

A series of bad commits were made to the 6.6 kernel series in the last month or so. Only overlayfs is affected. As 6.6.73 fixes these, I am making that kernel now.

LATER - 6.6.73 & 6.6.74 have more problems.

JusGellin - if you have a savefile/folder, you can put an executable script in /root/Startup , which will run every time X starts.
I'd call it zwlanoffpower , containing something like this:

iwconfig wlan0 power off

Re: rtw88_8821c Unhandled Firmware Interrupts

@JusGellin - turning power management off is easy in a terminal. At own risk:

1. run: iwconfig (this will tell you what interface is active, i.e. wlan0)

2. (assuming wlan0) run: iwconfig wlan0 power off

See if that fixes it first.

Re: rtw88_8821c Unhandled Firmware Interrupts

@JusGellin - rtw-8821ce has caused me issues in the past (hanging the pc that had that wifi adaptor), so much so that I made my 6.6 & 6.1 kernels with it disabled (have 'nr' in kernel name), & instead made an out-of-tree driver pet.

Currently 299mb used with Palemoon running. glibc is 2.30, gcc 9.3.0.

Strangely, Firefox-ESR is least affected by glibc. 2.22 is minimum for 32bit 68.9.0 (Jun 2020, is 64mb) - should run in 1Gb ram fine. Last official 32bit Palemoon 28.9.3 (May 2020, is 39mb). Runs in Bionicpup32-8.0 (glibc 2.27) & ScPup32-20.06 (glibc 2.30).
