Re: THIS LANDED IN MY PM INBOX

If the OFF TOPIC area is causing stress, and effecting family relationship, then it is probably better to delete it and get the forum back to what you want it to be.

Re: THIS LANDED IN MY PM INBOX

One way of freeing the forum of such junk, itself, would be to simply create two off-topic areas, one being for off-topic but still technical topics area, the other being for social off-topic chit-chat but with the latter simply being a link to an agreed off-site social venue. I know that many are ...

Not rational(even if there was a little more memory). Yes, pretty, yes, it reminds ZX Spectrum. But... Is there anyone who disagrees that this is a toy that you can buy only if you have "extra, unnecessary" money? I would not classify it as a toy. Not by the specifications listed on this ...

Re: What is the difference between dpupbuster vs puppy vs debiandog

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that a DOG, such as DebianDog, is made from one flavour of Linux, Debian, Slack, etc., shaped to work like Puppy Linux, but is not actually Puppy Linux. While a PUP, such as BionicPup is made using WOOFCE, or some variant of it. Or by remastering.

Re: Why Do You Use Puppy Linux?

I've used Puppy Linux on and off for years. It may not be as polished as th big name linuxes but it works. And that is all that I need from any OS. Spilling coffee on my laptop is what brought me back. Only 3 or four keys were effected so the keyboard wasn't completely destroyed. Just enough to make...

Not sure if this is what you want.

https://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewt ... 7&t=115930

There's two screen magnifiers, one 32 bit and one 64 bit.
both files are contained in the .tar.gz file, and are pet files so you only have to click on the one you want.

As far as it goes, I agree. It's easy to understand, and straight forward. But, if I updated Speak3pup, by upgrading the linux base, it would still operate differently than it's parent distro. For one thing, the windowing system would not be run, and tts and edbrowse loaded instead, and would rely o...

So, let me see if I understand this. Speak3pup was remastered from either a modified puppy or full Puppy 2.1.7. Can't remember which. Re: What's wrong with a full install of Puppy Linux?

If you like full install then there are many other fine distros that you can tweak to produce a lean and fast OS too. Why tweak another distro to get a clean and fast OS when Puppy is already there. True there are other ways to run Puppy, rather than as a full install, and I have and do so, though ...
