Re: BookwormPup64 10.0.8 - CUPS Fixed by Firewall OFF!
CUPS was being blocked from installing my Epson WF2860 by the Bookworm Firewall being 'ON' by default from the get-go! Turning the green shield red and it's 'GO' for printing.
My fault really, in that I haven't used the Firewall in any past Pups, so being 'ON' in BW got 'under my ...

Re: Grub2config - switch default Puppy boot [SOLVED]
G'day bigpup,
Thanks for the extra information.
I first read the BBS button in the BIOS and wondered where a bulletin board was involved. I didn't explore this at-the-time strange item any further, but clearly, should have.
But where's the fun if everything just works?

I'll have a go using the custom 40 method at the end of the grub.cfg. There's no critical data on this new computer that I can't re-load from one of the several only-10+-years old computers on my home desk. And re-installs get quicker the more I do, even ...

Re: How to modify Menus? Gramps deb install no menu entry [Solved]
A simple thing for a frequently used program is to drag its xxxxx.desktop file to the pinboard/desktop.
Go to /usr/share/applications/ with a non-fullscreen Rox, find the gramps.desktop file and drag it to the visible desktop. You could edit the desktop icon text to be just 'gramps' if it ...

G'day Mike,
Perhaps some examples of complete .desktops for different catagories? Ones for tricky situations that Puppians have encountered (and solved)?
And I've had many a whine about wine menus. So an example or two for common wine apps.
