Re: TazPuppy 5.0 RC10 (Slitaz-based Puppy hybrid)
Soundcard settings still not being maintained following reboot. I replaced rc9 with rc10 and booted with pfix=ram. I ran default soundcard wizard to get sound output. I created a new save folder. On reboot there is still no sound and the /etc/asound.conf was still not being restored from save.

Re: TazPuppy 5.0 RC9 (Slitaz-based Puppy hybrid)
Updated to RC9. There are still issues with asound.conf, not being present after booting, following running the soundcard wizard to select PCH as default soundcard on previous boot. This occurs on a clean boot and a new save folder created.

Re: Fatdog64-811 Final [10 Sep 2020]
Since recently manually installing FatDog 811 to a MicroSD Card via a USB Card reader, I have been having significant freezes using the included semonkey browser. I then created a new Firefox ESR portable installation using fredX181's script, which is stored in /mnt/home. I have continued to get ...

OK adaptor is an intel 8260 & I believe you are missing the firmware file linked below. Download it, & expand in an empty folder (tar -zxvf) & copy iwlwifi-8000C-13.ucode file into /lib/firmware & reboot, saving. https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_media/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi-8000-ucode-25.30.13.0 ...

Re: Puppy Linux 8.0 not detecting Wireless
If you do have intel wifi card, it is surprising you didn't get a result with the dmesg command in earlier post. What did you do to identify iwlwifi? Try to search for other terms in dmesg: (copy & paste) dmesg | grep -i wifi The above command should tell you what firmware version iwlwifi is trying ...

Re: BionicPup32-8.0
Probably should have mentioned this a bit earlier. Since about the +20 version my laptop won't start X on boot. Currently using version +23, I have had to add i915.modeset=0 to the boot stanza to get it to boot successfully. The laptop previously booted without issue. This is just a report for ...

Re: BusterDog + build system (no-systemd)
Hi Fred, I downloaded the new uefi.iso. Using it now, posting from palemoon. Normally I do a manual frugal install using a USB boot partition (fat32) nd a variety of folders on internal SSD or on USB. I read the Readme-UEFI, and attempted to do a new frugal install as per directions. I copied the ...

Yes I noticed that peebee reported a spam thread recently. The process used on the old forum seemed to work quite well, maybe that could be reintroduced. One thing to note though is that this forum does have a ' Report this post' link in the form of the Exclamation icon ! opposite the post title.

Re: TazPuppy 5.0 RC8 (Slitaz-based Puppy hybrid)
@TerryH I finally found the problem why /etc/asound.conf disappears Upon shutdown TazPuppy remembers the hardware setup. In case of sound card it relies on /proc/asound/card. However it fails to remember the soundcard because /proc/asound/card disappears when ALSA was stopped. So when the TazPuppy ...

New frugal install of RC 7 to usb flash drive (Sandisk Ultra Fit 32GB). The new kernel is a good inclusion, running well with low memory usage. Re: DpupBuster CE 64 and 32 bit

Re: How to use wifi and touch screen in Dell Latitude ST? (BionicPup32)
Doing a google search lead to it possibly being Atheros ARS263 (Atheros AR6003X-BC2B). There are a couple of folders in the fdrv for AR6003.
https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Atheros_ARS263
Check if any information is output in dmesg. In a terminal:

Are they actually mounted, or just visible as accessible. If they are mounted they will have a mounted indicator on the right hand side when viewed in caja.
