Re: dpup OS 1 Rolling

Updated with System Updater to latest dpup rolling release. Noticed that there is a new icon in tray. The icon is actually showing missing icon indicator. I clicked on it and noticed it is for bluetooth. I then set up a bluetooth speaker, which successfully connected, first attempt and is working ...

@perdido Nothing 64-bit about any of them as far as I know. Isn't Hirsute Hippo a 64 bit release? I realise that there may be a very simple answer/explanation, but this is where me having limited experience of Linux comes into play. Not entirely, ubuntu still have 32 bit repos for the newer ...

Yes, the comparisons with Scpup64 I mentioned were done yesterday while testing pupmtp in quickpup64. Also, when I plug the phones USB cable to the PC the probing devices message is displayed, but pupmtp fails to find the phone. Thanks for the information. Looking at the size of the BOOTX64.EFI, being similar size to a kernel, I thought that something like that was happening. I didn't notice previously, that there is no vmlinuz in this version. I also notice that the image for the init versiona also has a second kernel ...

@mikewalsh I have been in this situation often. I have never been able to recover when keyboard is also frozen, only hard stop works.

One of the benefits of not writing directly to the save file/folder, is that when shutdowns like this are required, it doesn't stuff up your saves.

You need to provide more information on how you Intend to create the USB Flash drive. Creating it like burning a CD using image writing software will create Read Only media, so you can't edit it. If you use software like frugalpup installer, it creates a writable USB flash that you can change the ...

Yes, I've been quite surprised at just how fast some of these modern drives are. I've got a wee, 'nano'-sized, USB 3Gen2 SanDisk Ultra fit 32GB drive. Much older drives, reads aren't much better than 12-15 MB/s; this wee SanDisk, anywhere from 95-125 MB/s.....though even THAT seems to vary ...
