PS. Wi-Fi has been configured with Simple Network Setup.

Have you made a save and are now booting using it?

When you did the setup.
Did you ever get asked to make SNS the default connection?

You should have been asked and selected to do that.

I have checked this: yes I did.
Easy2boot has UEFI 32-Bit support. So Voidpub64 could be booted on my Asus T100TA which has a rare 64-Bit system with uefi32.
I wondered if the same problem arises on a "pure" voidpup64 Live-Usb drive. That would not boot at first. I had to add an BOOTia32.efi to the efi boot folder.
But then voidpub64 didn't connect to my Wi-Fi automatically as well.

Answer the question about making a save.

If there is no save file/folder to use on next boot.

Settings you make have no way of being stored to use on next boot.

In both cases there is a save file which retains the configured wifi. Only it has to be re-connected manually every time on startup.

Well, SNS is good, but it is not perfect.

I am not in VoidPup or have really used it much, so this may be a bug of VoidPup.

Try this:
In SNS delete the connection, so there is none setup to use.
Close and reopen SNS.
Setup the connection.
Be very careful, when you close SNS, to make sure it asks to make it default connection, and you select to do that.
You may get asked this twice, before fully being done.

There were kind of two screens, that would pop up, asking this.

Reboot, making sure save is updated.

Any help?

If VoidPup has other network connection programs, you could select to use.
Try one of them, over using SNS.

For a long time, Puppy always had several different programs, that could be used for network connection.
Mainly because, they all had a few issues, working 100% with all possible hardware.
But, usually one of them, would work OK.
