ptm timer 3.5 SFS

Post by don570 »

ptm timer 3.5 SFS available
A simple timer/alarm script that can be used to wake you up with a mp3 songs
Download

ptmtimer-easy.3.5.zip
(22.63 KiB) Downloaded 12 times

Localization - French,German,Italian,Spanish,Russian
Install instructions:
-to install extract 3 files from zip package
-drag 3 files to .../easyos564/sfs/easyos/oe/kirkstone/
Turn off networking at bottom icon
-launch setup app 'sfsget' and follow instructions.
-Install in Main container and kirkstone container so that timer is
available from start menu in both containers.
Don't install it as a new container.

If you find that the app doesn't show in Start menu then try installing again using Bootmanager
Start Menu > System > Bootmanager

I made this script as an SFS so that it can be used by all containers and the front window.
I suggest that you place a mp3 song in the folder /file/share/
so that the same alarm can be used in all containers and front window.
Multiple alarms are possible. Maximum countdown is about 30 hours.
No restriction on alarm dates -- but don't shutdown your computer!!!
That kills the task.

Stop button is possible in main window . This is a convenience !!!
So you don't need to use the terminal to
stop a scheduled alarm. Log book will note that stop button has been clicked.

You should install in the main container and then install in the kirkstone container so that the app
is available in both

ptm timer 3.0 SFS

ptm timer 3.0 SFS
Download in first post

SFS works in Dunfell container.
Localization - French,German,Italian,Spanish,Russian
Stop button added , however I found that the button doesn't work in a container,
probably because of security conccerns??? But does work in main window.
Also I discovered that root and the containers use a different $HOME so different
music files are possible

Thanks!

But ptm_timer doesn't appear in SFSget. The files ptmtimer_3.0_amd64.specs is missing.

I used sfs2dir script with default settings for Dunfell.
To install I just put it in Dunfell folder.
I'll open package and see what's inside.

Re: ptm timer 3.4 SFS

OK, have fixed the ptmtimer sfs.

There is a quirk, the name of the sfs must be the same as the executable; that is change "ptmtimer-easy" to just "ptmtimer".

When you run 'dir2sfs' and it asks "Do you want ptmtimer to default run as a non-root client?", answer NO.

I took out all the unnecessary stuff, such as 'home' folder, and created a tarball, attached.
Expand the tarball and run dir2sfs:

Code: Select all

# tar -xf ptmtimer_3.4_amd64.tar.gz
# dir2sfs ptmtimer_3.4_amd64

and you will get an sfs that only has one menu entry, and works when the sfs is loaded on the main desktop and in 'kirkstone' container.

ptm timer 3.4 empty sound field

Post by don570 »

I came across some unusual behaviour I never thought about when writing the app.

When starting the Kirkstone container for the first time there are no mp3 files available, so when I
try to set sound to wake me up I can't find any and field is left empty. Then I switch to
main container and field is empty still. I have to restart app to fill in the field with the default sound.
I'll try to fix.

-I made small change and tested a lot.
It should change to default sound when sound field is left blank.
I recommend that your mp3 sound be located on same hard drive that you boot from
so it won't be lost.
