I seem to remember this week seeing a distrowatch distro released that has this built-in.

And, I may have also seen a video on such, as well. These Wayland+Pipewire, GTK4/QT6 distros are coming at us fast and furiously.

Seems, although I am not in a position to check, some Linux user(s) took a Hyprland distro and installed KDE additionally to it. Or, it was the other way around...can't remember. They found in encouraging and useful, IIRC.

This is merely some info that could prove useful. I, like you, are entertaining this option to mirror the kinds of things done on the forum with forum distros built that offer several DMs for old X11-xorg.
