A Yubikey has been forced on me

...and I am library-less. It says I need version 244 but we have 243: udevadm --version. It requires "pcscd" and the main app needs libnotify.so.4. Needs libu2f-udev, lsusb tells me this is: Yubico.com Yubikey 4/5 OTP+U2F+CCID Would anyone be able to give me a clue how to move forward with...

Re: "Manage Servers and Services" replaced with "Manage Broken Interfaces" in Control Panel

Thank-you for this. "rox /usr/share/applications/fatdog-service-manager.desktop" opens the manager albeit with a long pause, and the file itself is identical. I am comparing each file with another machine running the same now. I accidentally booted into a savefile on public open wifi then ...

"Manage Servers and Services" replaced with "Manage Broken Interfaces" in Control Panel

is now in Control Panel INSTEAD of "Manage Servers and Services". It does not click. It also appears in the desktop right click to Control Menu=> #8 System (as the same unclickable choice). I searched these forums for these terms and they don't come up and didn't Google. To my knowledge no...

Seeking Hidden ESSID Advice

I know the name and password of the network, and WPA_GUI does it in a snap due to the checkbox "hidden". I can't do it in Network Tool (Control Panel). Problem: I cannot get WPA_GUI to manage my second, powerful USB card because I have to use USB_Modeswitch running at boot for it to get re...

But one of reviews on Amazon said it didnt have sound with linux though it ran faster with linux. They didnt mention which linux they used. Just curious if you had sound with Fatdog. Or it is like linux on some former Chromebooks and you have lot hoop jumping to make it work? Here is what I can tel...

Ridiculously cheap Fatdog machine

I priced a Panda USB dongle I bought three years ago for $5.99USD. It now costs $40-70 (my wireless got corrupted by Android Studio again). I thought I'd share this cheerful albeit dull bit of fortune with you rocket scientists in these expensive times: I found a HYUNDAI 14 Inch Hybook 4GB RAM, 128G...

you could try installing androidx86 or chromeos in qemu, as a virtual computer! It might work. I was trying to run VooV, but it wouldn't run, also didn't run on wine. Is your app available as a chrome extension? Thanks...I guess I will have to experiment with this and report back. I installed Chrom...

I have need to run a specific phone app (Camscanner---I know I am happy using our many other pdf tools, too: this one is being mandated on me). This action is equivalent to the drag-drop steps you described in your message. Dragging is enough to ...

@chiefengineer, yes! very good understanding, and your realization that the two clipboards aren't synced automatically, and that one needs to run a suitable app with that specific feature, if that's what one needs. On a final note, the two clipboards exist before and outside the applications, clipm...

It runs 812 with the humongous initrd and Seamonkey with UBlock legacy and screams. It also has a busted screen and keyboa...

Re: Has 812 been the end of the road for any other machines?

Yes, the MD5 checks out and it is on a USB key that boots other machines just fine. It also fails on a second USB key and slot. It seems (and I am purely guessing) that the initrd loads, then vmlinuz on top of it exceeds some memory capacity. Other than that, this machine has a Broadcomm wireless ca...

So I took some actual photos (unfortunately the flash comes on) of the screens. One shows vmlinuz loading then trying to load initrd...the second shows the near-immediate result: a long list of attempts to write and populate followed by kernel panic. acpi=off resulted in the same This machine is an ...

Yes, the problem is booting at all. Kernel panic then a black screen real fast.
Will try to capture it but very difficult. Purpose of upgrade is to run driver
not contained in kernel version of 8XX<12 that boots perfectly. Thanks for replies;

Has 812 been the end of the road for any other machines?

I run create_ap on 810 with a slightly older Dell Vostro. It supports quite a network very well. I got this new, cool MT76 (powerful Mediatek USB dongle) fully supported by 812. Thus, I tested 812 intending to up my bandwidth. Alas, kernel panic. Every iteration of every option (small initrd, UEFI, ...
