Re: Puppy Linux Security Questions!
@Governor The Puppy you're using probably doesn't include man pages, maybe only this horrible tldr thing that gives only very basic information and only for some things

Re: Puppy Linux Security Questions!
@fredx181 True, and this output won't include files from .pet packages, the adrv SFS, etc'. It's not great but it's pretty much the only tampering detection tool available.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds
@d-pupp Can you add loglevel=7
, then save /tmp/bootinit.log to some partition once boot fails and share this file? I've been unable to reproduce the issue you're seeing.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds
@d-pupp
1. Do you have vanilladpup/vanilladpupsave on sda1?
2. Do you have vanilladpup/puppy_vanilladpup_11.0.*.sfs on sda1?
3. pdrv=
is unsupported, use pupsfs=
(+ read the docs)

@d-pupp Without any details like blkid
output, the kernel command line and logs I can't help much.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds
@d-pupp I don't fully understand what you're trying to do and how exactly, but altf1 is a very simple tool that injects an alt+f1 key press event. Nothing more.

Re: How to select more than one app from ppm?
AFAIK Fossapup64 has a heavily modified PPM that's very different than the one used in other Puppy releases. See https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... ssues/2186 and https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... ssues/2590, nobody bothered to fix this since 2021.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds
@d-pupp I'm sure this waybar crash will get fixed easily and quickly if you submit a detailed bug report with instructions how to reproduce it.

Re: PuppyLinux Bootable Stick Interferes With Main Drive
AFAIK Ventoy applies some patched to components like GRUB, so identical or different GRUB versions may lead to wrong explanations for this problem.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds
11.0.170 will:
1. Bump the kernel to 6.10.x
2. Add a save/no save prompt to pupsave, when creating a save under PUPMODE 5: it will save the current system state (you'll need to reboot to start using the created save; no save/no save prompt at shutdown)

retiredt00 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 8:07 amSo if you specify
psubdir
you can not have the savefolder anywhere else, as it can be done with Bookwoem, 10.x etc?
Right now - if you use psubdir
, everything (SFSs and saves) must be under psubdir
(not necessarily in the same partition).
